Customer
service is an essential part of today's business environment.
Every business encounters the task of providing customer service
in some form. A customer's service experience often determines
whether he or she will conduct repeat business. More and more
companies are recognizing and addressing the bottom line impact
of the service experience they provide. Consumer Affairs is
no longer a stand-alone group within a company - it is now
a function tied closely to Marketing and Operations that provides
invaluable insight regarding customer perceptions.
SOCAP offers students an excellent opportunity to gain an understanding of what
goes into creating a top-quality customer service experience that drives repeat
business. The networking opportunities SOCAP involvement can provide are second
to none. The Wisconsin Chapter of SOCAP invites and encourages student involvement.
Please feel free to contact Dave Poeschl, SOCAP-WI's Student Relations Coordinator,
to learn more.
A
select group of universities throughout the country offer
a degree in Consumer Science that allows students to focus
on the growing complexities of Consumer Affairs. The University
of Wisconsin-Madison has a Consumer Science program with
a concentration on Consumer Affairs. The Consumer Affairs
student group, known as the Consumer Science Student Association
(CSSA) is a student chapter of SOCAP.
